A massive fire broke out in a house for unknown reasons, destroying the entire house in the hilly Solatand area in Matta tehsil of district Swat here on Tuesday.
According to reports, Shah Wali Khan, a resident of Solatan in Matta tehsil, suffered significant damage as his house was ravaged by fire.
Rescue 1122 officials reported that they were on duty and rushed the site after receiving information regarding fire. “A caller, who informed us about the incident, mentioning that the access of the fire brigade was not possible. Despite this, we quickly rushed to the site and engrossed in firefighting efforts, said Ihsan Ullah, a firefighter of Rescue 1122.
Due to the hilly terrain and lack of proper infrastructure, the rescue 1122 personnels were unable to reach the location on time. “Local residents fought the fire bravely while the rescue 1122 personnels were not capable of reaching to the spot in time due to the distance.” said Awais Gul, Vice-Chairman of Rodingar Village Council, adding that the fire caused losses amounting to 80 lakhs for the affected family. Additionally, he demanded of the government to provide financially support and other assistance to the affected family.
